Managing a Crisis in the Digital Age

Managing a Crisis in the Digital Age

About the event

Crisis management is one of the greatest challenges that communications professionals face. Successfully managing a company’s communications, engaging effectively with stakeholders and maintaining reputation is difficult at the best of times. For many companies, the past 10 years has been a minefield of reputational issues, from regulatory issues to technology outages and social media activism.

The rise of social media has made life far more difficult, with citizen journalism and unreliable sources creating confusion and chaos. To further complicate things, cyber-crime can threaten the very channels that financial services companies use to interact with their clients. So how can communications professionals prepare, manage and successfully resolve crises in the digital age?

During the seminar, we will cover:

  • the principles and main stages of crisis management
  • what constitutes a crisis; when to assemble the team
  • how social has transformed managing a crisis
  • dealing with the unique challenges of cyber-crime
  • turning a crisis into a success story
